Looking for some back-to-school advice?

As a teacher, I was always excited to see the August issues of women’s magazines in the stores. That was in the dinosaur days, before the magazines were all available online. Now I can see the articles with their great little tips – FOR FREE!

So, whether you are looking to organize, inspire, or just find the ‘hottest’ new stuff, I pulled together some tried-n-true sources. ENJOY!

http://kidshealth.org/parent/positive/#cat169 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This is a great source for articles on almost anything. The “Learning and Education” section has several great places to start. (They also have articles written for children on some topics too!)

http://www.parenting.com/back-school “First Day Prep” and “Get Involved” were my favorites here. They provide tips that are practical... I might even be able to keep them past the first two weeks.

Last night while surfing the internet, I saw this site about help for families with picky eaters. I found it interesting, and hope you do too.

Today the School-Age children tried toasting marshmallows with magnifying glasses. It did not quite work, but they enjoyed the experiment.
The Kindergartners missed out on playing at the Splash Pad because it was unexpectedly closed. They had an awesome water fight in our front yard instead!
The preschoolers played outside as long as they could, until the hot weather and bright sun drove them back inside.
